FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions.

What does TechMax support?+

TechMax provides remote support for computers, software, printers and scanners, networks and Wi-Fi, email and browsers, general performance issues, common peripherals, and small-business workstations. See the full Services page for details.

How does remote support work?+

A technician connects to your device to view and interact with it for the purpose of the support you requested. This only happens after you explicitly authorize it. You stay in control throughout the session and can end it at any time.

Is TechMax affiliated with computer or printer manufacturers?+

No. TechMax is an independent support provider and is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Microsoft, Apple, HP, Dell, Lenovo, Canon, Brother, Epson, Google, or any other manufacturer. We reference product names only to describe what we can help with.

Can you support Windows computers?+

Yes. Windows troubleshooting is one of our core computer support services, including startup issues, system errors, driver and update problems, and general configuration.

Can you support Macs?+

Yes. We provide macOS troubleshooting alongside our Windows support.

Can you help with printers?+

Yes, including wireless and USB setup, connectivity, driver troubleshooting, print-queue issues, and printer sharing on a network.

Can you troubleshoot Wi-Fi?+

Yes. We help diagnose Wi-Fi and internet connectivity issues and assist with basic router and device configuration. Some issues ultimately require your internet service provider's involvement, which we'll identify where relevant.

Can you install or configure software?+

Yes, for common productivity, browser and email applications, including installation, configuration and troubleshooting.

Can you help with slow computers?+

Yes. We review startup programs, background processes, storage usage and system configuration to help identify what's slowing a computer down.

Can you remove unwanted software?+

We can assist with troubleshooting and removing potentially unwanted applications and browser add-ons. We don't promise a guaranteed or perfect security outcome — see our Disclaimer.

Can every issue be fixed remotely?+

No. Some problems require physical repair, replacement parts, manufacturer service, or your internet service provider, and cannot be completed remotely. If we determine your issue falls into this category, we'll explain why and discuss an appropriate resolution.

What happens if physical repair is required?+

We'll let you know as soon as it becomes clear that remote support can't resolve the issue, explain what we found, and recommend next steps. See our Refund & Cancellation Policy for how this affects billing.

How much does TechMax support cost?+

Published plans range from $149 to $1,499, listed in full on our Plans page. Custom situations can be quoted individually by a TechMax representative before you pay anything.

Can I receive a custom service quote?+

Yes. After speaking with TechMax about a situation that doesn't fit a published plan, you'll receive a service description and approved amount, which you review and confirm before continuing to payment.

Can I stop a remote session?+

Yes, at any time. Attended remote sessions are always under your control, and you can end the session whenever you choose.

Will TechMax ask for my passwords?+

TechMax technicians should not ask for unrelated banking credentials or full payment-card details. If a password is genuinely required to complete the specific service you requested, you remain in control of entering it yourself wherever possible.

How do refunds work?+

Refund eligibility depends on how much of the service was delivered before your request. Full details are in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

How do cancellations work?+

You can request cancellation at any point by contacting TechMax with your order number. Whether service work has already begun affects what's refundable — see our Refund & Cancellation Policy.

Do support plans automatically renew?+

No. Plans published today are one-time purchases for the scope described. We do not enroll customers in automatic renewal.
